See How Easily You Can Boost Your Income With These 5 Simple Changes

If you aren’t making the level of income that you want to make, then you need to make changes to Boost Your Income.

It really is as simple as that.

I want to start this post with 2 quotes that I think go together like burgers and relish.

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

“The greatest predictor of your future are your daily actions.”

So said 2 wise men!

If you are doing the same thing over and over and it’s not working now, it won’t work in the future.

People tend to make drastic changes when small changes are often the only thing that's needed. The following are the 5 simple changes that I made to increase my business growth and boost my income.

Changes To Boost Your Income.

Change 1: Get a Routine (and stick to it!)

If you are a marketer, start with a routine you can stick to. It doesn't matter if you have 8 free hours a day or 2, make the most of every hour.

My general morning routine is:

  • Check my email
  • Check and reply to forum posts in SMO
  • Check Facebook for messages and posts
  • Close mail and Facebook
  • Go for an hour's walk
  • Start on my to-do list

The last things I do before I finish work for the day are:

  • Check email
  • Check forum
  • Check Facebook
  • Create tomorrow's to-do list

By sticking to a routine you will form good working habits. You don’t need apps or tools to get into a routine, a simple pen and paper is enough.

Change 2: Be Brutal

Delete anything you don’t need or use.

I’ll be the first to admit that this can be hard, I have a tendency to horde things. After all, you never know when you’ll need that old 12 volt charger from your 2001 gameboy!

But when you get rid of the clutter both online and in real life, running your business becomes so much easier.

I’ve spent the last month since returning from Florida and Las Vegas being brutal.

Over 40 Leadpages and lead boxes have been deleted.
23 websites have gone.
8 products and partially completed products are no more.
I’ve rebuilt my Mac, and MacBook and only installed what I need.

All this wanton brutality has meant I can focus on what matters to me and what I enjoy doing.. I’ve also happened to find some great stuff I forgot I had!

Change 3: Automate More

What can you automate? You really would be surprised at how many repeatable tasks can be automated.

Your first stop should be IFTTT – If This Then That. Have a look at what apps you can connect together. Maybe a simple to-do note can be automated to appear in your Trello account every morning and can then ping your phone to remind you.

Automate your social media distribution. Chances are that if you came here from Facebook or Twitter, the post you clicked on was automated.

A lot of the donkey work on this post has been automated (apart from the writing, although I suppose I could get Siri to transcribe a voice message!).

I got the idea for this post last week, and added it to Evernote. Evernote then synced that note with Coschedule and scheduled it for today.

Over the past 3 or 4 days I've added simple voice notes with ideas for the post.

I will shortly finish this post in Coschedule and it will post it to my blog while at the same time scheduling the initial posts to Facebook and Twitter.

Change 4: Take Time Out

I probably get more work done on my hour's walk every morning than if I was at my desk.

Removing yourself from your work environment can allow ideas to flow. I often mentally start to write posts and emails when I am away from my desk.

I work through ideas and usually come up with solutions to stubborn problems.

One added benefit is that I’ve lost almost 12KG/26lbs while walking … thank you Fitbit!

Go to new places to experience more. I often head down to the local harbour and look at the mega yachts, Mazaratis and Ferraris that are parked up there. It never ceases to motivate me.

So, finish this article and take a break. Take your family to lunch or out to the cinema, come back refreshed and ready to tackle any issues you might have in your business.

Change 5: Read More

I read for around 2-3 hours a day. Blogs, fiction, non-fiction it doesn’t matter what it is, it all helps generate ideas.

Let’s not beat around the bush here, most TV sucks. There are notable exceptions (Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, etc.) but generally it’s mind numbing bullshit.

I really don’t want to live my life vicariously through one of the hundreds of Kardashian episodes or watch people cook food when I could be cooking or eating my own food.

TV = valium for the masses!

However my wife likes to watch TV, so when we are sitting together in the evening it’s on. To help preserve my sanity, I read blog posts on my Ipad while the TV is on in the background.

I use Feedly and subscribe to sites I find interesting – Fast Company, Inc, Problogger, Jon Loomer, Wistia, Hubspot, etc.

Then I just scroll through the articles that interest me.

Subscribe to all your rivals' blogs, see what they are doing.


It’s all too easy to get too focused on your business and fail to see all the positives.

By making a few small changes you can make a big difference. Follow a few of the ideas above and you’ll soon have a business that takes up less time, makes more money and is actually enjoyable.
